Elizabeth Mitchell

Pastor Berkedal served at Christ Lutheran Church in Compton from 1977 to 1986. He and his wife, Reverend Sally Welch, were married there and their son James was born there. Pastor Berkedal served at Faith Lutheran Church from 1986 until his retirement in 2018, where the congregation developed a vibrant ministry and built both a Parish Hall and new worship building.
Rev. Sally Welch is an ordained minister in the Christian Church (Disciples of Christ)/UCC denomination and is also retired. She is a three-term past president of the Southern California Ecumenical Council and a board member of its successor, the Southern California Christian Forum. In addition, she serves as a docent at the Simon Wiesenthal Center’s Museum of Tolerance in Los Angeles. Their son, James, is an attorney serving at a wills and trusts firm in Pasadena.
Ed is a loving father and grandfather who still finds time to be a strong and passionate leader in the Church. He and his wife, Jean, devote their time to setting up special projects and events and are always willing to lend a hand to those who need it.
Elizabeth has been a member of this congregation for most of her life, beginning with her baptism in 1992. Since then, she has held various roles within the church such as reader, teller, assisting minister, and church council member. She is available through phone or email for any questions, concerns, or prayer requests.
